Led the end-to-end design and delivery of a portable connected-device demonstrator for a Honeywell Fire Research & Technology programme, combining embedded hardware, PCB design, mechanical enclosure development and web-based software into a unified demonstration platform for executive and customer evaluation. The solution was designed to integrate with Honeywell's leading fire detection brands, including Gent, Notifier and Esser. • Architected and developed a custom Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) prototype using the Espressif platform. • Designed a bespoke PCB and compact 3D-printed enclosure for conference demonstration under an accelerated development schedule. • Developed an interactive Web Bluetooth companion digital-twin style application to simulate key operational workflows and provide real-time interaction with the prototype. • Integrated haptic feedback, RGB lighting, audible alerts, physical controls and battery-powered operation into a cohesive demonstration platform. • Rapidly iterated hardware, diagnosed and reworked PCB issues, and delivered a reliable functioning prototype within an exceptionally compressed timeframe. • Balanced engineering trade-offs to maximise reuse of the mechanical design and supporting software for subsequent product development. • Worked collaboratively with cross-functional hardware, firmware and systems engineering teams to define platform architecture, evaluate hardware platforms and shape the future product roadmap. • Led the end-to-end design, architecture and development of Honeywell's ILSS evacuation assistance concept, working with international teams to develop an integration with Honeywell Connected Life Safety Services SaaS for data import and event ingestion. • Developed a React Native (Expo) mobile application for end users to access the service, and a React/Vite micro-frontend for advanced functionality and overall service provisioning/management. • Worked closely with international engineering teams to integrate with Gent, Esser and Notifier fire detection systems (EN & UL), analysing specifications and implementing complex protocols. • Designed, specified and prototyped a BLE/WiFi-enabled hardware lanyard wearable and firmware to perform beacon tracking via Honeywell's self-testing fire detector ranges. Developed React component library and micro frontends to extend functionality of existing Wordpress prototype and led the effort for its replacement with a React frontend and NodeJS/GraphQL/Firestore backend for greater flexibility. This formed the "Heroa Plus" subscription-based service, ready for closed pilot.
